Every once in a while I come back and rewatch this video lol. I know she's already said this was a concept but looking back you realise just how important having a female idol like her was. Someone who didn't care for humility politics and allowed her self confidence to shine wherever she went, regardless of whether it made men uncomfortable or not. KARA's amazing legacy aside, she will always be one of my favourite idols of all time for this.

She wasn't anything like that and it wasn't wrong to be confident but there were people who didn't like her because of that. I always disliked how they dragged her but Gyuri didn't back down. Later on, people realized that she's actually a sweet person who's actually shy. Her members, friends and even mother spoke about her real self but Gyuri said that being confident also helps her and she wasn't ashamed of it either. Besides, Gyuri isn't wrong about being beautiful and there are people admitted she did look like a goddess too.

Plus having that mentality to always put up that persona on national television and not be bothered when she got slandered, and ALSO always have answers when she got asked ridiculous question. She was such a role model for me in the mid 2000s and I wanted to be just as confident and unbothered as she was. Now that I'm grown, I realize it was just a made up concept she used as a defense mechanism, however that somehow makes her seem even more admirable and strong. I don't watch Euphoria but there is this one famous quote from that show that always reminds me of Gyuri, “90% of life is confidence, and the thing about confidence is that no one knows if it's real or not".
She did possess goddess-like, aethereal beauty, and she is so loveably sassy ❤❤❤ about it. The audience loved her, and the moderators enjoyed her answers, blowback, shrapnel, and all. Yet she still exudes warmth, charm, and down-to-earth humor, while garnering the much needed publicity for Kara in a competitive and relatively small K-pop market. No one can carry out this persona and feat quite like her, even to this day. I would not advise other people including woke Hollywood to follow her example like it were some plug-n-play formula - they'd come off as just arrogant, narcissistic, and out of touch, without any of her warmth, sass, and charm.
