I saw Miyeon met Twice's Sana for a meal together. This started due to Miyeon's hosting job, I think. I'm not as familiar with (G)I-dle, but having watched the first Queendom, I was impressed with their music and stage presence. Soyeon is very impressive with her songwriting and production. I'm a moomoo, but I thought (G)I-dle were very close to MAMAMOO in quality. This was a very entertaining Knowing Bros. segement.
Miyeon and Sana came to know each other and become friends through Miyeon being asked whos her favourite in Twice and she answered Sana. They met at the year end concert and got close quickly. Sana and Miyeon are close in age about a month apart and have similar personalities so they are great friends. Sana has appeared on Miyeon's radio show Gossip Idle during Alchohol Free era. They have been good friends for a few years now.
Queendom is also where i first saw them! their concept and performances were so good, i wouldnt have been surprised if either mamamoo or them wouldve won. Miyeon and Sana are friends, they even did the tiktok trend of dancing to each others comeback songs. Minnie is also close with Twice's Jihyo and Mina, Blackpink's Lisa,.
I'm with the other commenters here. MAMAMOO and ( )I-DLE are probably the most artistic girl groups out today, but I'd like to tack on DREAMCATCHER and PURPLE KISS as well. I think MAMAMOO and ( )I-DLE have more of a say and are more hands on, but DREAMCATCHER's creative staff as always been inventive and PURPLE KISS, being MAMAMOO's little sisters have basically been following that same path of being more personal with their songs and choreo. I say this not to diminish any other groups out there, but I think these four put more of themselves into the music and are willing to take risks. They don't follow trends, they set them.

Me too, mamamoo was the first kpop group i stanned ever and when (G)I-dle joined the scene i feel for them as well, they both are awesome performers, got a strong producer line and their live singing is legendary. To this day i still feel the most connection to i-dle and mamamoo despite stanning probably all girl groups in the industry from 2ne1 to stayC lol
Soyeon is so young and she's totally another level. a real master, a freaking genius, her talent, courage, kindness, she's unique not only in kpop, but she's unique in pop, in life. so humble and beautiful. i love soyeon she's the best, truly

Soyeon brought me to IDLE. I am part of their fandom now. I just love them, their music, personality and everything about them.
I think it's amazing how much all the members have grown up. These last few years couldn't have been easy for them but somehow they've grown to become bigger and better than they already were. Everyone has matured whilst still staying true to themselves. This is why I like the K-pop industry a lot, even though it has its big flaws, it's amazing to see the idols come from being inexperienced rookies, to powerful groups with phenomenal stage presence and making everything look natural!!

I assumed all of Asian people are agree on this thing, that doing whistling (although it's unique) when we're young can bring bad luck especially if you do that at night before sleep.

i can tell they have no clue about cost, losses and gains, just with album sales enough, there is absolutely no way they were in deficit just with the protection cost of tomboy, that make no sense, it doesn't take millions to produce a MV in most cases
@Rezadyn I am currently working in music production and let me tell you that it does indeed cost at least 1 million for one music video. You are not only paying the directors but the numerous staff, props people and their materials, stylist, and costumes plus the rent of the place for shooting and the car they used as well. the animation for the doll means they hired stop-motion animators as well. Finally, the post-production crew is a different staff altogether so it is a different payment. With the quality of Tomboy, the pre and post-production staffs and teams are the best of the pro in korea.
It is not an exaggeration when they say that it costs a lot. It is an estimation but it could have been more or less 50,000usd. Most quality MVs could at least be that much.
An indie music video costs at least 900usd with just 1 director 1 videographer and editor. costumes stylists and props are not included.
@Life I think they are telling the truth since Soyeon is the one who also in charge for mv creation, she also took a part in budget proposal (Yuqi might the one who exaggerated but Soyeon always deliver the right information). Actually, I Never Die (tomboy) album is only sold under 200k for physical despite many high demand due to Tomboy high popularity because Cube never re-stock the album, with the sales around USD$25 per each, they only gained around USD$5million which can be less for 2 mv high production costs (not to mention how they prepare great intro in mcd promotion which definitely demand high cost for their practices and more video editing).
As information, they are not only released tomboy mv but also my bag mv (renting 5 luxury high-price sport cars). In tomboy mv, it is also the first time they use so many details, many high budget prop, and high quality editing here and there which costs a lot, might cost millions only for 1 mv. If they only calculated income from albums only, they can experienced deficit due to high production costs. However as far as I know (G)I-dle held world tour concerts and attend so many gigs especially high demand festivals (which will pay them in great number), their income in tomboy era definitely from those (but not from their physical album sales).
i think they talk about “hwaa” era, because of the mv production, music show promotion, etc, and they’re have no income for a group fund bcs they’re went on hiatus after just promoting hwaa for 1 month.
so they need to use their “group” funds for budgeting tomboy preparation (?) so that’s why they’re saying that they have minus (?)
could be an exaggeration but cube isnt that big of a company either. Gidle earns the most in cube so for them to be on hiatus for so long and spending double the budget would mean a lot.
