"The last 50 000 years have been a mad headlong rush from monkeydom to starshiphood" -Terrance M. When you are on psychedelics, you can sense just how nuts the times we are living in are. We are obviously accustomed and conditioned to life today, but looking around todays world objectively, you see insanity everywhere.

Something that bothers me just a little bit about the psychedelic/spiritual community is this obsession with "healing," giving me the impression that we're just bottomless pits of trauma and all we have to do about it is this endless road of healing, like some kind of spiritual Sisyphus.
My question is, what if you've healed?
What is there left to do once all of your trauma has been addressed and resolved, and now you're healthy and happy?
    My answer is *growth.*
    That's the endless game.
If you start in the negative, then hit neutral, its time to work up into the positive.
And like excercise, you're never "done."
You don't finish a workout and say
"Alright, I'm done. Now I'm stong.
I don't need to excercise anymore!"
Perhaps you started excercising to lose weight, or to rehabilitate from an injury.
    That's working on healing.
    But that ends, eventually.
You ALWAYS have room to grow, even if you don't need healing. That's what confuses me about the whole
"Once you receive the message, hang up the phone" idea.
Like, there's more messages, you know?
You're not done, just done with *that* workout.

I would agree. I think sometimes trauma is over-fetishized within this community and people can get somewhat lost in that feeling of release, and so want to keep on releasing rather than moving on. I used the term "pain porn" to describe this in a few of my videos.
In terms of the "hang up the phone" comment then I always interpreted it as simply being "know when you are done with one topic, then move on" rather than giving up psychedelics.

Yeah, the future of psychedelic world is about to be bottled, packaged and sold all branded and measurable.

    • @Psychonautica
      @Psychonautica  2 ๊ฐœ์›” ์ „

Some of it is, but that is no different to what has always happened. People bottle, package and sell carrots, but it doesn't stop anyone growing and eating their own carrots.

As an agent of chaos, I'm very skeptical of people's insistence on the "correct way" to use psychedelics.
Like "don't trip if you're in a bad headspace."
From personal experience, that advice is DOG shit.
I've smoked DMT in response to being filled with smoke breathing rage, and it RULED.
"Always trip at home or in a safe place."
I've gone grocery shopping on LSD a few times now and fucking ACED it.
After one LSD shopping trip, I drove 30 miles through a *storm* and felt stronger for it ๐Ÿ’ช
"Don't trip if you're in a stressful point in your life."
In the middle of the 2020 lockdowns, when it felt like the world was going to end, I met my birth father for the first time in 17 years.
I took like 3 drops of LSD the very next day and this rational materialist atheist saw God for the first time in my life.
The best way to trip is by following your heart
    โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ”ฎ

    • @Psychonautica
      @Psychonautica  ๊ฐœ์›” ์ „

With a conversation like this then I would caution against falling into binary thinking and taking anything that was said as a blanket statement that applies to everyone, but as a general rule I think its sensible to have some guidelines.
So sure, you have had some experiences which worked for you, me too - but there is no way I would say as a general statement that "its fine to drive around tripping". If people want to take that risk then that's on them - and it absolutely is a higher risk than driving around sober.

I wouldn't say so, people in the poorest regions of the Amazon have a shaman within walking distance who will help on a reciprocal basis.
