Why Elegant Weapons?
In almost any endeavor, the craftsman needs the right tools for the job. For a musician, those tools are things like their instruments, their voices and the emotions that the right combination of all those can bring to the surface. So yes, it references our instruments and also this kind of music, where we’re carrying on the tradition of the greats like Sabbath and Dio but also bands the guys are connected to, like Rainbow, Pantera and Priest.”
As for the music, Richie describes it as “a mix of Jimi Hendrix, Priest, Sabbath, solo Ozzy and Black Label Society, but with a lot of melody, sort of old school and modern at once if that makes any sense, and actually down-tuned a whole step. The Marshall Plexi basically does one thing, but you’ve got to crank it to 11 for it to have that distorted sound. It hasn’t got a lot of bells and whistles on it or different channels and effects. It basically does one thing and does it very well. But again down-tuning creates more of a modern sound, and by using the classic sound of the Marshall Plexi, you get that juxtaposition, that contrast. All told, there are a lot of guitar solos and the songs are on the heavier side. And even though there’s a lot of melody, it’s still going to shake your bones.”

Great riffing, smokin' solos, a kickass rhythm section, killer vocals and brilliant songwriting. What more could you ask for? An excellent heavy, melodic Rock 'N' Roll record. It's already on my best of 2023 list.

Faulkner the BEAST 😍So much intensity and variability🤘🔥🎸 Some riffs and solos are close to Priests Firepower. Could have worked quite well as a new Judas Priest album.
it is so damn generic, every riff and solo of his sound the same, Priest could've found better.
This is a great heard rock album, but I am hoping the new JP album will be firmly in the heavy metal realm, so heavier than this and not too much rock n'roll.

Awesome metal music. Great playing with catchy riffs.
I am gonna have several comments as I listen to this through... but what I hear very clearly is the influence of Richie living in Nashville and hanging around with guys like Jared James Nichols. Aside from all of the classic rock/metal stuff, that is what really shines. There is a very 'American' feel to some of these passages. Specifically Ghost of You, and Bitter Pill.

Came here for one Song.. Do or Die .. Cant stop Playing the Whole Album. For me , this has the same feel as when i first Listened to Lynch Mob's Wicked Sensation . Not one bad Song . One of my NOW Fav Albums . The Solo's are Killer ..Vocals are spot on .. And .... the Drummer .. Wow ... Already looking forward to the next Album..

My buddy hit me with this totally blind....I said "HOLY GOSPEL HELL YEAH!!!!" Bitter Pill first tune...I thought Michael??? And also nailed Scott Travis...then the reveal.....talk about a double-barreled assault of crunchy goodness...LIGHTS OUT!!!!! takes serious balls and nailing it. Bravo gentleman, bravo.

This album is incredible. Can't believe it exists in, 2023. Unreal. So many bands out there with great guitars but the vocals are jaut too heavy. Nice to hear someone singing their ass off

After many reoccurring listening sessions, sometimes twice a day...what a fantastic album! Not a bad song on here. I have to admit, Richie shines more on this then his role in JP. I'm not a fan with him in Judas Priest...cover band now a days. With this release, Richie comes to life...well done sir!

Okay, I am gonna say it. There is enough keyboard here to ask if keys will be played live... and going forward into album #2 is there a Jon Lord type protégé that can be mixed into the band? That would be very Purple/Heep. Something that has not been done properly in years (BCC is close...)

@@peterpandemonium3336 Well i found out right before they played. I did a little research before the show. It was back in Oklahoma. Jeff Keith the singer is from Ada right down the road. He was wearing his FFA jacket from high school. His dad was on the side stage proudly watching his son. I think the tickets were only like $5. Tesla is always one of the best live bands. They don't really care about the stage show. It's all about the music and fans.
